Well, I'm always preaching about not having your band too tight and getting unfills when you PB, so its now my turn to do it. I haven't had or needed a fill since April, as I always had perfect restriction, but something happened a few weeks ago.. I had my first PB on some tuna that I always eat.. I thought I was fine, but I'm not. I thought it was because of my TOM, so I waited a few days till that was over, and it's clearly not better.

Usually at night I'm wide open and can get anything down, but last night I PB'ed on something simple and easy.. so, in a few hours I will have an unfill.

I've only lost a few pounds in the last month and I think it's because I'm not getting enough calories in. Kristi (kjeter) and I think it's from the Texas summer heat swelling us up perhaps?? I don't know what it is.. It is odd to hear of a band getting super tight after three months of no fills..

Anybody else having these issues?

You know, I have ... my last fill was at the end of May and I was tight, then injured myself (torn ligaments in my ankle) and chalked the tightness up to that and TOM, it got better for a few weeks, then bad again ... however, I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow and think I am going to ask for a slight unfill. I am thrilled with the weight loss, but have definitely been struggling with food. Yesterday I think I got stuck on Soup and had a miserable night. Today is still bad and I can only get small amounts of Fluid down. I've had acid reflux for the first time in my life and, at this point, would rather lose a bit slower and be healthier. Who knows, I may regret it ...

Yeah, I've been getting stuck and having issues with Soup too, and I never do that... What I can always get down with no problem is Wendy's Chili... I tried to eat a little bit for lunch and it was all bubbly and stuck feeling and just miserable.. thats' how I know its a serious problem now. The last thing I want is a slip.

Crystal, I just read somewhere that when you are retaining Water, the band can get tighter. I probably read it here. When I was bloated a couple of weeks ago, I had my first stuck episode. It only happened once, so I didn't worry about it. I also felt like I was eating less around that time, having to remind myself to eat because I always felt full, etc.

I hope you feel better after your unfill.

I haven't had any restriction for about a year as I've recently had a baby, so after putting on about 35lbs I was relieved to get a fill three weeks ago. I did the usual fluids and sloppies but have really struggled to get back onto 'normal' foods, however small the amount. I go a few days where I can eat and drink okay but then I'll have a couple more days where I struggle with Soup and produce saliva after every attempt to eat or drink. I'm not utterly fed up yet, however I do realise that I need an unfill. The problem is that I can't get an appointment with my doctor for 5 weeks. I could probably manage until then but I'd rather not have to. I've contacted another fill provider who can see me on Thursday but I have to get up to London (a 6 hour round trip)!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
