Hi Everyone

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 5-15-08 by Dr Chris Dyas in Mobile. As of today I have lost 38 lbs. I have had one adjustment and I think it is time for another one. It is starting to take more to satisfy me so I know I need a fill. I am getting to the point where I need some new ideas on food and what and how much people are eating. I think I may not be eating enough calories. I am drinking anywhere from 70-80 ounces of Water a day. Any advise will be great. Good luck to everyone being banded and congratulations to the ones already banded and doing well.

Hi!! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! I wish i had some good advice for you, but unfortunately, i have the same questions as you. I was banded on Jun 2, and i don't get my first fill until august 19th. My surgeon doesn't fill anyone until 12 weeks post op. So, i have a lot of hunger, but i'm so afraid of overeating, that i don't eat much, but stay hungry. I keep a diet diary, and most days i get about 500-600 calories in. I don't know if this is too much or not enough. I still have trouble getting all my fluids in. I feel like i'm sipping all day, but still don't quite get to 64oz. Well, nice to meet you and maybe we will get some answers  Talk to you soon

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
