debbiejackson 0 Posted August 4, 2008 Hello, I'm Debbie from Houston and I had lap band surgery last Wednesday, July 30. I'm a registered nurse and I am hoping to describe from a more clinical viewpoint what is happening. My husband created a website for me to post my experiences with the surgery, hospitalization, and hopefully a large weight loss. My website is here.

Thanks for sharing your website information. I read through your entries and I can't believe you were allowed to eat all those wonderful foods so quickly after surgery, WOW!! I can't wait to read about your progress with your Gortex nonadjustable band. Best wishes, Stephanie
Shamrockgirl60 1 Posted August 4, 2008 Hey never heard of this kind of band is it new? Sounds like a compromise between gastric bypass and the adjustable band. Can you stretch your stomach pouch and it gets bigger and then the band doesn't work? Is there a web site describing what it is? I am being banded this Thursday with a regular adjustive band. Can you stretch your stomach pouch and it gets bigger and then the band doesn't work? Is there a web site describing what it is? I am being banded this Thursday with a regular adjustive band. I had the original, nonadjustable banding done. My husband's insurance does not cover weight loss surgery and the adjustable costs twice as much. The nonadjustable banding does carry the risk of pouch stretching. One of my friends had this problem. She would drink more than the four ounces of Fluid that you are allowed every hour and eventually she had problems. Good luck with your surgery on Thursday!
