That would be something you need to ask your doctor.

Did they not send you home w/ a list of specific foods you can have or examples ?

Did they say FULL liquids. Because full liquids is not mashed potatoes.

Full liquids means anything you can suck through a straw . But if you do not know , they did not send a list then you need to call your docs office ! Every doc is different in what they allow

My nutritionist gave us these guidelines:

Protein Drink (Ultra Meal or Bariatric Essentials)

Water

broth (low sodium)

Diluted juice

sugar free Jell-O

sugar free Popsicles

Crystal Light

Skim Milk

Hope that helps!

OOPS! Forgot to add cream Soups. A lot of people have recommended the soups on the go. Easy to warm up and sip from the cup.

full liquids choices boost, ensure ,slimfast ,glucerna, no sugar added carnation instant breakfast with skim milk. full liquids food choices skim milk 1% lowfat cream Soups strained sugar free low fat puddings slimfast light yogurt

This is why its important to ask YOUR doc. My doc did not allow puddings. its not a liquid or yougurts. So when in doubt ask your doc.

Colton is correct, each doctor has his own set of rules. Please contact your surgeon's office. If he does not have a list, then ask what can you have.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
