AHHHHH!!! 9 lbs on vacation

Recommended Posts

I just got back from a month long vacation (11 days cruise and 3 weeks back home at Mom's) and did not step on a scale the whole time. I must admit I ate anything in front of me but am now dealing with the reality of gaining almost 9 pounds and feeling remorse for all the hard work it took me to get that 9 pounds off (I still have no restriction).

Just a bit of ranting, I can't believe I did this but oh well, hind-sight surely is 20-20.

Well you had a great time and that is wonderful. However, back to home and back to basics. Best bet is to get back to a more normal eating schedule as soon as possible and getting back in for a fill should help out as well. I am sure you will do fine once you get to eating better and exercising.

I know how you feel. I had a tooth ache for 3 months and until I got it taken care of (my tooth pulled) the only way I could get the pain to subside was to eat something soft which wasn't always healthy. Needless to say I gained about 11 lbs myself. I am scheduled for a fill on August 15th. I would go for a fill sooner but I have to travel to Dallas and I live about 5 hrs away and have to travel to them. Hopefully after my fill I will start to lose again. Good luck on losing those extra pounds.

I went on a two week vacation and gained three pounds. The doctor didn't even fuss at me. He said that the point of losing weight is to get your life back and enjoy life as it should be. I did enjoy my vacation. I was able to walk and hike without being winded or stopping to rest. My arthritis in my knees no longer bothers me. I was able to wear heels with my new outfits. Anyway. I got right back on track the minute I got home. I had been on a three month plateau, and for some reason, the change of pace started my metabolism back up. It's been two weeks home and I've lost my three pounds plus two more!!! WOO HOO!!! So just get back in the swing of things, and you may be surprised. I was!

I gained 4 pounds on my cruise and it was like weird holiday weight.. I lost it in a few days when I got back home. It will come off, don't worry.

Awe, bless your heart!!!! It always hurts to gain back some of the weight we have lost, but KNOW THAT IT STOPS HERE!!! This is not like the rest of the diets you have been on. You will be back on track now, and the gain stops here. It is not the end of your weight loss, and it would be, if this were just another diet, but thank goodness, its not. SO, now, you can take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back, and say "good job" its only nine pounds and not the 50 or so that is would end up being in the old days!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
