Way to Lellow!

Leading the way for the rest of the August All-Stars. Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better. After reading all the posts about gas I did go out and by some Gas-X. I hope that it will help. I will also dig out my peppermint tea - thanks for the suggestion. I usually drink it during the winter, so I will have to scrounge around to find it.

Good job on the weight loss - remember post-op is for healing! I know I will be jumping on the scales too!

Each day gets better with the gas. I was able to walk 2 miles today and felt really good after the walk. I can still feel some gas but it is much better today.

Hey Lellow and Claudine! Glad to hear from you!! I agree that the gas is a pain, but nothing unbearable, just frustrating. I'm glad to hear that both of you made out well. This is going to be a great journey.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm down a pound even with my swollen belly. I weighed myself the day of surgery and it actually put 4 lbs on with the gas and liquids, so don't panic if you do gain some weight.

It's all GOOD!!! Moe

Well, the gas, for me, is almost a thing of the past now. No discomfort at all. But I'm experiencing a little bit of hunger, which my surgeon told me to expect. He's got me on smooth mushies (yoghurt, creamy low-cal Soups etc) today to combat the hunger.

I'm also walking to the shops today - about a 3 km round trip (about a mile and a bit?) to get some supplies for when I go back to work next week.

How are you lovelies doing today? Claudine and Moe?

I am doing a lot better this evening. I am doing a lot better sipping on my broth and Protein Water. I walked 2 miles today and feel that the gas is pretty much gone. I am starting to feel a little hungry tonight but I can manage. Are any of you on the full liquids yet? My doc wants me to wait a week before starting them.

How are all the August 4th bandsters doing?

Yep I start full liquids today. My Dr's instructions were Clear Liquids until I start feeling hunrgy (approx 5 days from date of surgery) then full liquids (and smooth mushies like yoghurt without fruit lumps) for a week then slowly introduce soft solids.

I agree with you! I'm getting anxious to get this done now! I'm so excited and scared spitless at the same time!

Got a call from surgery today and I meet the surgeon on Friday. Along with a bunch of tests I'll also be getting all of my instructions so that will help a lot!

Best wishes on your surgery tomorrow. Be sure to let us know when you can, how you are doing. Take care!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
