NJSoldierwife 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Holy cow, I just got my surgery date, September 9. And that is only 10 days after I come home from seeing dh for his 4 day pass before flying to Iraq. I don't know how I am doing this without him. He will be in Kuwait the day I am getting the surgery. I am so scared. I am not good with trauma and stuff, I am so scared. Oh did I say that already? Sorry, just freaking a little. With my emotions of him leaving for 10 more months, knowing he is not in safe Fort Bliss TX is killing me. Oh well, talk to you ladies soon! armywife4life 0 Posted August 2, 2008 keep you head up girl, my husband returned from 15 mth tour in baghdad, you will be scared really scared for a lil while but soon you will get a routine going, that will make things easier for you.. Just trust that you soldier knows what he is doing and will take care of himself. And as for having the band, just think that you have this 10 mths to go and get healthy and when he comes home welll..... my favorite quote is " You think Iraq is hot, wait till you get home" LOL.. good luck and pm me if you need to chat, like i said ive been thru one deployment already and my husband is right now in the field training for 60 days to go back to Iraq again in a few months. Take care HOOAH!!
gina s. 0 Posted August 3, 2008 I'm so happy for you! Well, about the band, not about your husband being gone. And I won't lie and say you'll be okay because you won't be, but you will get through it. Deployments are hard enough to deal with on their own, but try not to worry about the surgery, it's really not that bad at all. I'm a big sissy and I thought it was fairly easy, so I think you will be fine. You'll get an added bonus too.....your husband will be totally suprised when he sees you again! That's way better than him seeing the daily progress and not even noticing when you've lost twenty pounds!
Keleka 0 Posted August 4, 2008 Congratulations and Good Luck!!! Try to keep the faith while your husband is away! You'll do fine! This site is a great source for support! Besides... He will have a "new woman" to come back to!!! Take care!! Teresa
tutornmom 1 Posted August 12, 2008 I was told that it would take 48 hours for tricare approval and it did. My surgery date is 8/22. I asked the doctor's office to make it happen quickly because our insurance is changing soon. I am SO excited. I have preop tomorrow!
