mtnman428 1 Posted August 1, 2008 Hi all; its been pretty quiet here in Canada Lap-band land. Did everyone head to the lakes early for the August long weekend? I'm 2 weeks from my procedure and have lost 10 pounds on the pre-op diet. I am afraid a weekend of beer and BBQ is going to be too tempting to resist. I suppose a little binge shouldn't hurt. What do you think?
E.L. 0 Posted August 1, 2008 I'm sure a wee bit of this and that won't hurt. Just try not to eat like you used to at a party so that you keep those lost 10lbs off. Have a good time! I'm going out to the lake now!! Enjoy this beauty weather!:cursing:
Doddie63 6 Posted August 2, 2008 Cujo: Are you asking permission to break your doctor's pre op diet. Because if you are, certainly don't have mine. The reason for the diet is I am sure you already know is to shrink your liver. I think if you knew you could eat at the BBQ, you would not have asked us. What do I think --- NO. Do as your doctor told you. Doddie

Michee 2 Posted August 2, 2008 Good Luck Cujo I was banded Aug 15 last year. I was allowed to eat veggies (225 cals per day) on my pre-op. Perhaps you can bring a some colourful veggies to grill on the BBQ and to share. I went out with a friend last night, and I noticed my size 8 jeans from old navy are getting a little loose...............trust me that feeling is sooo much better than any bbq could ever taste... You are going to do awesome, welcome to bandland
mtnman428 1 Posted August 2, 2008 Thanks for the advice doddie, I have never been successful with diets before which is partly why I'm here now. Life tends to get in the way of dieting, from my perspective. Thanks Michee, I'm allowed a pound and a half of green veg a day which is keeping the munchies under control. I'm going to the Stamps/Rider game tonight which would mean normally a tailgate bbq - burgers and beer. Tonight its bottled Water and a bag of celery sticks. I hope I can survive. Go Stamps! or Go Riders! - I haven't decided who to cheer for. I've never seen Saskatchewan win a game, so if I cheer for the Stamps maybe the Riders can stay undefeated. Doddie63 6 Posted August 2, 2008 cujo: what is in the past is in the past. now is your opportunity to start a brand new journey by getting off on the right foot. You will not be dieting just eating less and making better choices on the small amount you can have. Born and raised in saskatchewan now in BC but still a roughie fan.
