3 months and waiting for my 1st Fill

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

I am 3 months out and I am waiting for my first fill. I had my 3 month follow up earlier in the week and they finally scheduled me for a fill. I have to wait until the end of August so that stinks. My doc does it at the hospital with the fluroscope so he can make sure the band has not moved and insure you are not being overfilled. How many other Doctors operate this way?

Up until the last month I was doing well, I lost about 37 pounds. Then I kind of fell off the wagon a little. I knew I was eating things that I shold not have, but I was still losing. That stopped and I have been stuck ever since. I know the fill will help, but why do I always do this to myself - I constantly try to get away with eating what I know I shouldn't. Since the surgery I have gotten better, and I do feel full sooner - I guess once I have restriction is will be easier for me to say no to things??? I have only PB'd once because I ate too fast.

Any advice?? I beat myself up over these things and then it gets worse.

Did you guys feel like you could eat anything unitl you had your first fill?

Wow, 3 months seems a long time to wait for a fill; in lurking around here the average is 4 -6 weeks post op for the first fill. I'm only 16 days post op but plan on scheduling my first fill 4 weeks out. It seems docs won't do fills if you are losing adequate amounts of weight without struggling with hunger. Being hungry is what starts the cravings for most so the key is to help us control our hunger. Docs who won't help with that and say you're doing fine without a fill don't sound like docs that should be doing these kinds of surgeries. If we could control ourselves, we wouldn't have needed the surgery in the first freakin' place!

I think the primary reason for the 90 days is becuase of insurance reasons.
