My problem is I think I have no restriction even after my first fill. I have never had a problem eating anything yet. I am not on any red meat yet, but I think I could even eat that. How many fills does it take to reach the point where you actually feel the restriction? I still get hungry also. Is anyone going through this?
It took about 3 fills for me also. Hang in there...your day is coming!

Hi, I am 25 day s out from banding and still have port pain and can eat whatever. Im still sleeping on my back because the fronta nd sides hurt. I am back to work part time but it kicks my butt. It is taking longer than i thought to recover but i am getting better. I just eat whats on the list but i know i could eat more , i hope that changes when i get a fill.

Help--I don't think I have any restriction at all. Have not had trouble eating anything so far. I am 16 days from surgery. Haven't had any meats yet. I feel I may be eating too much. My next appt for my first fill is 4 weeks away. Anybody in the same situation?

Also how long does it take before the feeling that your insides are going to fall out in bed and when you sit too long goes away. I'm still awfully sore. Thanks for the replies---

Well, I've had two fills and the next one is next Monday. Still feel like I have no restriction. I keep waiting to feel the point where I can't eat anymore, but it is just willpower that makes me quit. I am losing weight, but feel I need some more help. How many cc's did you all receive for each fill? :(

i buy better than eggs, and scramblethem. they break up into really nice small size pieces which are easy to chew and get down. Maybe that would be a good suggestion plus great source of protien :( i add fat free cheese, and diced meats such as turkey, to them to increase the protien. Only thing Ive had stuck is gum please dont ask lol. never chew it again ever.. but ive been making sure with my food to take very small bites and ensure its pretty much liquid before im swallowing. My jaw gets awful sore during eating.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
