40 lbs in 27 days

I can't believe it. I am so happy. I haven't been on the Forum for a few weeks because my phone company screwed my internet service up. :) Anyways how is everyone doing? I am feeling great!!! Still have a little port soreness but that is ok. Started working out and yesterday 9/23/03 I ate a regular dinner for the first time since before surgery.

I wanted to grub out and eat but did very well. I ate my meat first and then veggies but all together only ate about 4 bites. Pre-op I could have eaten two plates.

I got on the scale yesterday and again today. You guys this is incredible. I am finally losing and not gaining. I haven't lost 40 lbs since the 3rd time I tried and failed at Jenny Craig.

I want to say thank you to my big bander brothers and sister. You all are amazing. The world would be such a better place if there were more people out there who cared for others the way you all do.

All My Love,:D

Wow, Nicole!! That's an amazing loss, good for you!!

Not to be a wet blanket, but now that you're starting solid foods don't be surprised if the loss stops for a while. We ALL know it's nothing to worry about and it DOES NOT MEAN YOU'RE FAILING, but when you've seen the numbers go down day after day it's a shock when it stops.

In the meantime, while you're getting used to solid food and thinking about maybe scheduling a fill, you'll be doing it in clothes that fit differently and maybe even buying new ones. Yahooooo!!!

Congratulations!!!

Welcome to the "otherside." Congrats on your incredible weight loss. Just stay the course, eat slowly, follow the rules, be patient. and the lbs will fall off.

It's even MORE amazing when you translate that 40 lbs of butter to 160 sticks of butter!!!! Those 1/4 pounders add up nicely. Congratulations and a big high-five!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
