FINALLY!!! I've been at this since December and I just got my date-August 14th. ( really strange bcause about 2 weeks ago I told my gilfriend that I had a dream that I got my surgery on that day) I'm so excited and I cannot wait!

Howeve-I am a little nervous because hey-it's surgery. But what if something goes wrong or it doesn't work or I dont lose weight? I'm scared. I'm just holding my breath that I didnt give my hopes up.

I know this may be a stupid question but hey I'm 19-does anyone know about going on a roller coaster post op? Obviously not for a while but I was thinking about slipping of the band!:biggrin2:

Congrats Samantha!!!

You probably won't want to go on a rollercoaster for a few weeks but there should be no reason why you can't go on with normal activities once you heal.

Answer to your ticker question...After you create your ticker at tickerfactory.com or wherever, you get a bbcode and an html code. Copy the entire bbcode then come back to this site and paste it into your signature section.

Congrats. I'm hoping for an august date too. I meet with the team the last time august 6th and should hear very soon after that, as my insurance is medicare, and they don't have to prior approve it.

Good luck

Went my surgeon Dr. Holover's office yesterday for my second consult and now I am scheduled for August 18th:thumbup:.... I am nervous:scared2: and really excited:lol: all at the same time. I really can't believe how fast everything went from my first consult on June 18th to scheduling the surgery. While I was talking to my doctor the most beautiful butterfly was flying near his window. I took that as an omen that everything was going to turn out beautiful. Everyone in his office has been extremely helpful and they know all the ins and outs of insurance. I am so glad I found this site and I know I will be out here alot in the next few weeks.

Good luck to everyone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
