6 weeks post op and so many complications.

Recommended Posts

Well it certainly seemed like that the first week or so. Before it flipped it was feeling a lot better. I know they prefer to put it on the ribcage area so it is easier to access. I guess it is different practices. It is still under my left boob but half an inch lower. He does actually have a incredible success rate and very well respected in his field here in Spain. I guess it just comes down to individual body types and rejection. I have always had some kind of complication post op with ALL of my previous surgeries for anything so I shouldn't be surprised that I did with this too.

Kizzie...I am sure you are so relieved that you did not have a slip or a second flip. Sending good vibes your way for quick healing. What you have been through is hopefully behind you and you can start living a "normal" band life. All the best to you!

There was actually a thread once on port placement, and ports are all over the place!!! There was one up in the collarbone area---like my chemo port was! And there were ones clear down on the bikini line, and everywhere in between!!!

Continue to sip away----you might consider 2 things to sip on----one being clear Protein drinks--like the Zero Carb Isopure---the Protein will aid in your healing process. The other thing I have heard recommended often when dealing with raw esophagus, or swollen stoma areas, is clear aloe vera juice. Sip those same as you are your sports drink---slowly but STEADILY....and hopefully soon you will be on the road to really working WITH your band!!!

Glad you are feeling better!!

Kat

After all you've been through, kizzie, it's so thoughtful for you to ask about me. I'm doing very well, moving along in the process. Learning from your port placement experience, I did ask my surgeon where he would place my port. Based on my body shape, he said it would go on the left side of my stomach area, about halfway between my waist line and breast line. Sounded good to me. I would have never thought to ask, if not for your post about your problematic port position.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
