sandibly 0 Posted July 29, 2008 Hi I am in the beginning stages of preparing for the Lap Band Surgery. I was just wondering if over all, are you happy that you had the surgery, would you do it over again? Or are you someone that wishes you never had it done? I just want to collect some data for myself as i continue on this Journey to a Better Me :wink2:
auntlucy 22 Posted July 29, 2008 I would absolutely do it again. It has been the best thing in the world for me!
Long2BFree 12 Posted July 30, 2008 I'm 12 days post op and knew that I would regret doing it while I didn't feel good but now that I'm back to myself again, I can say without hesitation that I would absolutely, 100% do it again. I feel like it has given my life back to me.
smsmithart 4 Posted July 30, 2008 I'm a slow loser but who cares I'm losing..not gaining I would do it again
juliegeraci 7 Posted July 30, 2008 I would do it again. The only thing is that you have to know there are people out there with fickle bands. I have one of them. I have had 20 fills in 2 years trying to find my sweet spot. I go from being too tight to too loose so it takes time. Just know that sometimes it is not easy. MerryHearted 20 Posted July 30, 2008 Success, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not to goal yet, but where I'm at is a whole lot better than where I was. Plus without the band I'd still be gaining via the old dieting yo-yo routine. So: no regrets here, at almost 3 yrs out. And I do plan to eventually make it to goal. With how far I've come already, I know that it's possible. Good luck making your decision!
bbaby24 0 Posted July 30, 2008 Am so happy I had this band, I tell my patner " i love this band more than I love him" for some reason its true. I really love my band, I cant imagine losing it.
mnn2501 0 Posted July 30, 2008 I would probably go more drastic (like gastric bypass) if I had it all to do over again but to give you an idea of why, I have 200# to lose (at that point I will still be considered obese by insurance charts but will be very happy when I make it) . After 4 months I have lost a total of 50#, but find I can still eat enough to gain weight if I don't watch it. I am going for another fill in 2 weeks so perhaps I'll start losing again. My biggest weight loss came when I was on the liquid diet 2 weeks before and 1 week after and the 2 weeks of mushies after that. Keep in mind the Lap band is only a tool -- how big a tool do you want/need
