trish5713 2 Posted July 29, 2008 Well now that my insurance came through and my date is set I've realized that I will most likely have my lovely period on the surgery day. I've heard that you shouldn't get your legs waxed etc. when you've got it because it makes you less tolerant of pain or something so will i be in more pain? i'm not really worried about that too much though. what i am worried about is the fact that i'll be having my period on the surgery table. i know what doctors/nurses/anesthesiologists are medical professionals and don't really care but it's still embarassing to think about. anyone else have to deal with this? do they let you wear tampons in surgery. i would assume not since they're not sterile but ya never know. Guest Leslie2Lose Posted July 29, 2008 My period started the night before surgery. I didn't have a tampon in - I don't they they allow them. I had plenty of padding though. They really think nothing of it. I was able to use a tampon after surgery (once I was up and about).
Carrie_C 9 Posted July 31, 2008 They will just put a lot of padding underneath you. It's no big deal.
Chrisann 0 Posted August 1, 2008 I got my period on the day of surgery, 4 days early. They gave me the stretchy hospital underpants and one of those gigantic pads. In reality, It felt comforting to have the underpants on otherwise I would have been wide open down there....
jillrenee15 0 Posted August 14, 2008 If you are on the pill, just go directly to your next pack without taking the dummy pills, that should work. I've done this for years when I had something going on during that week, vacation or what have you... Hope this helps. Or if you're not, why not start them??
