I live on juices! Just remember to check/keep up with carbs/cals. i drink a small JAMBA juice smoothie 3 times a week- they give complete nutrition guides and the low cal ones are 180 cals or less beware of the others! My nutritionist is cool with these.

I drink this for at least one of my "meals" after fills. My doctor recommends 48hrs liquid diet after fills. I also like to keep one in the fridge and use it as a snack throughout the day as I get closer to my fills and start having hunger pangs. I just drink a little bit here and there, it takes me about a day and a half to finish one. Anyhow, I do like them and they keep me on track.

If you can control what you are taking in I would say it's okay. My nutritionist doesn't recommend it because many people can't control what they are drinking and could very easily get carried away with taking in too many calories.

The one i had today wasn't chocolate... it was a few different fruit flavors... It said PROTIEN accross the front so it caught my eye... yes they arent low in calories... and the bottle is 2 servings... with 20 grams of protein a serving... they fill me up tho... im still on a liquid diet for a few more days so i need the calories! But they sure do taste ALOT better then a protein shake!!

You can find usually Naked juices at Whole Foods where the cutup fruits are when you first walk in, although according to their website, this particular one is only available at food Emporium in NYC. :) (click on locator, then plug in what product you're looking for with your zipcode.)

Welcome to Naked Juice

I just looked at their site, and it appears that it's TWO servings per bottle, and there are 39g of carbs/serving (!). That's almost two slices of bread. I'm thinking I'd almost prefer a sammich with meat if I'm going to have that many carbs.:wink2:

(I'm also in NJ, btw!)

Thanks so much for the info; your right that is alot of carbs. I would rather have a samwich too! My doc says don't drink anything with a serving more than 7 grams of carbs, so I'll stay away for now..... but thanks anyway.

(I live in South Jersey):)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
