Last supper?

Recommended Posts

I might do a "last meal" on the 14th b/c I start a 10 day liquid diet on the 15th. It's going to be tough but worth it. By the time I get to mushies, it'll be close to 6 weeks with out "real" food! UGH! Seeing that in print sure makes a difference to just thinking it! AHHHHHHH!!!

well I've had my last meal before surgery tomorrow! Korean Barbeque and Steamboat was closed so we had yum cha instead. Yum! But that's it, my very last full meal before I'm banded!

I really have taken the brakes off a little this week, but luckily haven't gained any of the weight I lost back. Mind you, I haven't lost anymore either. But it's all good, by this time tomorrow I'll be a bander.

My Full-Liquid diet doesn't start until the 14th. But right now, I hope I don't have the last-supper syndrome. I think it would be too much of a shock for me to go from a huge meal to just liquids overnight. I would probably cheat on the pre-op diet every chance I got if I go this route. So nope; not if I can help it, not for me.

So far I've been watching what I eat, CHEWING, eating in moderation, going to the gym *almost* every other day for about a month now. I"ve lost 17 pounds and I intend to keep them off for the surgery.

Good Luck to all!

New England clam chowda' is the best:) I ended up going to Olive Garden with my friends and had one last Corona Light. It's amazing how little I could eat, but I enjoyed it. I'm about ready to chew my own arm off at this point with Clear Liquids all day, but in less than 10 hours I'll be banded:) WOO HOO!!!

Hey another Sox fan, what do you think of the Manny trade? All for the best, I think he has serious mental problems. Like maybe being bi-polar. He's one reason the team hasn't been as good as usual this year.

I had crispy orange beef and veggies with white rice two nights ago from our local Chinese place. It was delish. I was very good and didn't order any high fat fried appetizers.

Back on my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shakes and one small meal yesterday and from now till surgery. I may have lobster this weekend and forgo the butter. Lobster is an approved Protein on my hospital diet list. LOL

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Where are you having it. I have a friend who is going through the program in Portsmouth NH hospital.

I am at Lahey Clinic...they are great.:biggrin2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
