Barbara77 0 Posted July 28, 2008 Hi everyone, My name is Barbara and I hail from the Big Apple; NY . Just wanted to say hello and to say that I am very excited and pleased to find this site. Surgery was 5/29/08; lost 14 lbs in 6 days; had my first fill 7/2/08 and so far so good. Don't have a scale at home but my clothes are quite lose to say the least. Have gotten very motivated and encouraged from you guys and I wish you all much success:thumbs_up:!
Angelsma 1 Posted July 28, 2008 Welcome Barbara! I'm glad you found the site too. You will find a great deal of support and information here. Come back often, post, reply and read, read and read some more! This sight has been a real blessing for me in preparing for my surgery and what to expect post-op, recipes and things that I would never think to ask my doctor...I found it here. All the best to you! Keep up the good work.

Lanakila 1 Posted August 5, 2008 Does anyone have a problem with gum or drinking straws now months after your surgery? My doc said absolutely no straws, and no chewing gum...ever. He said that both just make you swallow air and that stretches your pouch. He said if you are going to ignore his advice and stretch your pouch, then there's no point in making the pouch in the first place. Ouch, harsh, but point taken!
