Weird Question for the Ladies...

Recommended Posts

Ok ladies - I haven't seen this posted on here anywhere yet, but I am curious....

Was it difficult to shave your legs after surgery?!? haha I know it's strange to ask - but it's summer, I have PCOS, and therefore have to shave OFTEN! :tt2: Did anyone have difficulty shaving, if so how did you get around it? I REALLY REALLY don't want to ask my husband do it for me, or want to deal with letting my legs go for too long without shaving.

THANKS in advance for your answers! :biggrin2:

I couldn't be bothered for at least a month after surgery because of the port pain. But it didn't matter to me because it was December!

The good news is that it's much easier now because I don't have as much fat to reach around or as much leg to shave ;-)

This should be moved to the Ladies Room Gone Wild Forum. Can any mods do that please?

Also I don't shave now don't see a point LOL

I moved it.

I could not shave my own legs for a good month. It was just too uncomfortable to bend over to do it with the port pain. But I have PCOS too and after two weeks I couldn't stand it anymore. So, I caved and let me wonderful hubby shave them for me. He actually did a pretty good job too.

It's so hard for me to shave I always miss spots and it hurts my back and it takes FOREVER.

It's not worth it...lol once in awhile I'll do my ankles for capris but not often.

THANK YOU SUSAN! I'm glad someone else with PCOS replied - I'm not sure others understand just how bad it does get (in fact my excess Hair growth issues actually bother me more than my weight appearance wise - the weight loss is about health though, so obviously more important) ... I mean seriously, I can go a few days and the hair growth probably matches what others might have in a week or two. Uggghhh :tt2: Guess it sounds like I'll either have to break down and ask the hubby to help out, or spend some $$ on a wax job or something....

I don't have PCOS, but I couldn't shave mine for about a week after surgery. It was just too painful to bend down to do it. It would be easier if you took a bath, but you can't for at least 4 weeks. I just dealt with it. But I can understand how you feel. Maybe you have a best girlfriend that could help you?

Why not go and get a wax the day before surgery, that will at least get you through a fortnight or three weeks? Even if its just from the knee down.

PCOS = Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Waxing is a good idea, but I have PCOS and a wax barely lasts the week. In fact by the seventh day I need to shave as I have long stubble (just not long enough to have it waxed again).

As for shaving, if I'm going out and I shave in the morning, I have 6 O'clock shadow (worse than a 5 O'clock one!) by the time I need to get ready to go, so I if an event is coming up, I actually wait a few days so the hairs are long enough to do a decent job!

I haven't shaved in ages. It is winter here (Australia) but even if it was summer, I still wouldn't be shaving. I can't reach the back at all and doing my lower legs is murder. After surgery, I'll be waiting till Xmas I think. (surgery is 22 Oct.)

I don't recall having issues shaving as a new post op. And I had no problems shaving after my Tummy Tuck a couple of years ago, nor did I have any problems 2 weeks ago when I had my tube shortened.

Like Jachut said, why not have a wax? Even if it only last's a few weeks (I was always lucky to get 3 weeks out of a wax) it might get you out of trouble if you have lots of port pain when you bend.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
