Is this normal???

Recommended Posts

One month ago I had my first fill (4cc's in a 14cc band). The first week I felt like I had pretty good restriction. After that I have been able to eat more and more and I am hungry again a couple of hours after I eat. I have also pretty well been able to tolerated eating anything. I was reading on another thread about delayed restriction and that it was normal, but I am the opposite. I am having another fill on Friday. Just wondering if I should expect the same, hoping to find my "sweet spot".

It takes time & everyone is soooooo different. I know people who get a fill, have 2-3 great weeks of weight loss and their restriction is gone. I've not had a fill at all and lost 75 and actually feel too tight. Don't get caught up on the # of cc's people have in their band, because every person's stomach shape & size is different and where one person may be very tight at 1 cc, the next person may need 9. My doctor has always said if you are feeling hungry for 2 weeks and not lost anything, it's time.

I had my first fill July 15th and havent lost a single pound! I am always hungry and can eat just about anything right now. I am not scheduled to go back until Aug 12th I wonder if I should call and see if I can get in sooner? What do you think?

Hello there !

I had surgery on Nov 5 - 2007. I have had two fills. Just had my second last Friday. I restricted me to 7CC . My Band will max at 10CC. I was maintaining my weight for about six weeks. Make sure you eat all your calories. I'm at 1200 a day. Also workout. You will lose.

My first fill was exactly like yours, but my second was a doozy. I went from no restriction to perfect restriction. It is all a matter of luck and timing. I also requested very aggressive fills and luckily my doctor obliged :0)

I would definitely call. There is no reason to wait if you don't feel anything and if they will see you a smidge before the expected date.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
