I eat Breakfast, for me when I eat breakfast even if I am not hungry because then I am not so ravenous in the evening or afternoon, my breakfast is strictly Protein. If you skip breakfast, are you eating 60 grams of protein a day? That is the question, protein is very important to us bandsters. If I do not eat breakfast, I know for certain I do not get in my 60 grams of protien a day, and I know my protein has been key to my success.

Me too! I always eat breakfast, but once in a while it is more of a brunch on some weekends.

I must have gotten the LapBand A.M. because my band is closed for business till noon. I often drink a Protein Shake, but I'm totally not interested in food in the mornings. I wish that would happen at night & wonder when they'll invent the P.M. version.

I always try to get breakfast in and normally it is an egg and 1/2 piece of toast. Today my hubby actually got up and made me a small pancake, so I had a pancake and an egg. Anytime I ever try to go out for breakfast I always get sick. While I was in Utah for my cousins graduation, my uncle took us all out for breakfast every morning. Every single morning I got sick. I would never even get more than one little nibble in. Of course there was a big group of us and I felt totally conspicous about trying to look like I was nibbling on something. It was awful. By dinner time I was able to eat a small portion of a Sub sandwich including the bread and the following night I was able to eat 2 small slices of pizza. Anyway eating breakfast for me can be a gamble but I ussually try to manage it. At home, I'm not under as much stress and can nibble on it as it feels comfortable.

Right now I seem to be able to eat breakfast. When I was swollen after surgery, I had a hard time. I am going for my first fill June 1st. Do you think it will make it change back to like it was when my stomach was swollen?

Well, it depends on how early I get up. I am not filled and don't have any restriction. If I don't eat breakfast I get hungry earlier with a "hard" hunger.

Because of my Midnite job my breakfast is at different time then most.

But When I first wake up I cannot eat or drink anything for approx an hour.

When I get to work first thing I do is eat my breakfast.(normally a yougurt with corn flakes or shreadded Wheat, a small banana and a portion of protein). I eat the banans last in-case I am feeling to full I will save it for a snack a few hours later. Most times I do not feel hungry when I eat this meal. Keep in mind when I eat this meal I have been up an hour, been sleeping 7 hours and not eaten for 1 -2 hours before going to bed. But if I don't eat then I get to hungry and when I decide to eat I tend to eat to fast and then I'm uncomfortable. If I eat the breakfast (normally its 11pm when I do) I don't eat again until 4 or 5 am When I eat my lunch. I get off work at 7 am and then when I get home I eat my dinner around noon-1pm.

I'm one of those with a weird schedule too. I head to work at 6 pm and don't get off until 7 am. sleep from about 8 am to whenever...usually about 2 (sometimes earlier and then take an hour nap before work). But then on my 3-4 days off I try to be a "normal person and sleep at night.

"Normal" person days...it takes me awhile before I can eat. Usually start with coffee or hot tea. Then a couple hours later will have something (egg substitute/veggies or Protein bar). But then a lot of days I won't have "breakfast food" since I'm so messed up on what time it is!

I have an AM band too....I must sip sip sip until about 9, then a Protein Shake. I'm very tight in the mornings. Getting in hard Proteins is very difficult. This band is very tight and I'm yet to get a fill...

This might sound really silly but.....if I eat breakfast, then I seem to be hungry all day long. Since getting my band, I've tried to have something with Protein, usually a spoon of Peanut Butter before I go to work. I know it's probably all in my mind but it's like I put something in my stomach and it goes...."hey, we're open for business, now feed me more!" So, I may never become a member of the breakfast club other than my spoonful of peanut butter before I head off for work.

I'm like Greg with a crazy shchedule My work scheudle is different then most, I am up at 3:50 am and at work by 5:00am so when I eat breakfast it is usually around 9:00 am where I have been up for 5 + hours and I got to bed at 7:30 and I do not eat any food in the evening past 5:00 pm so we are talking 16 hours between dinner and breakfast.

EAT! It's really important -- it gets your metabolism going. Sure you might be getting in only 1000 calories a day, but it they're all clumped in together, your body will be shutting down when it has nothing to process and won't use all the calories it could.

You don't have to eat typical breakfast food for breakfast. Sometimes, I'll brown a piece of chicken the night before and munch on that for breakfast. One of my favorites is to eat a piece of string cheese.

DEFINITELY eat breakfast. I cannot stress this enough. I also believe that this is one of the "secrets" to my weight loss.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
