Anyone use this? I haven't even had the lapband yet but am guessing with my huge gut there will be some saggy skin.

Do those lotions help, even a little? I bought some Nivea Firming lotion.

I buy the Nivea Firming Lotion too, I'm on about my fifth tub of it.

Does it help? Not even a little bit! But its a lovely body moisturiser, really nice and rich without being greasy and it smells great.

I must admit, I never expected it to do anything. I dont spend a lot on face cream either because I believe they're just a waste of money. All you need is moisturising, anything else is a gimmick.

Sorry for jumping in here...but I just can't resist....

There is no clinical evidence that any of these lotions work. In fact, read the fine print and you will notice that it usually says, "clinically provent o reduce the APPEARANCE of cellulite...blah...blah...blah..."

Like others have said, these creams work by moisturizing. By "plumping" the skin and underlying fat, it may make the cellulite and dimples appear softer.

Believe me, if any of these things worked like they claim, I would be bathing it it myself! I think they are very good moisturizers, and in the case of nivea, not very expensive. Feel free to try it, but be realistic about what it can do for you. They certainly are not harmful to you.

Ditto of Jachut! I use the St. Ives Firming lotion. It doesn't really do that much, but it smells wonderful and I like the silk like feel of my skin afterward. To be honest, I've recently tried some extra vigin coconut oil on my boobs, face and neck. I tried it for a red, bumpy, sandpaper like rash on my face. The rash is disappearing very quickly, but to my pleasant surprise, it is actually smoothing out the fine lines around my eyes and mouth, and also that puckery look of my breast skin from losing weight. My rough elbows are gone. I don't know what's in it, and it did great on my rash, but the added bonus is fine with me!!!

I bought the Nivea firming lotion and like it so far (2 applications). I also bought some Vitamin E oil for about $3.00 per jar. I am starting to have itching around the excess skin where the stretch marks are and have lost about 30lbs only with 100lbs more to go. Really nervous about this. I have follow up with my surgeon monthly so I am planning on making sure he documents all of the itching and such on my chart. Thanks for the input Dr. Schulman.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
