Chicken, chicken, chicken...

Recommended Posts

I know that chicken is used alot for the Protein and also fish. But my question is, (I am sure I know thew answer) but the breaded kind of fish is a no no right? And what about chicken should it always be skinless too?

i dont know about fish, cs only like tuna. but chicken has to be skinless, even though that is the best bit. and has to be boiled, grilled or baked

Breaded chicken and fish obviously has more calories and carbs (and fat if it's fried), but don't see why it would be a "no no." It's not going to hurt the band. I eat breaded chicken sometimes, just not a lot.

i was told bread is a nono

Bread is hard for a lot of people to eat, because of the doughy consistency. It can turn into a blob of dough in your stomach. Breaded meat isn't the same thing -- it's usually crispy and crunchy and easier to eat.

I feel like almost anything is okay....IN MODERATION.

If you're craving breaded chicken, this is a simple yet healthy way to indulge. I take chicken breast strips, dip them in egg beaters, then throw them in a big ziploc bag with crushed corn flakes and/or reduced fat cheez-its and bake. They are fast, easy and not a whole lot higher in fat or calories than just the plain chicken.

I first made them because I thought my daughter would like them, it turns out we all do.

I can eat anything I want, though I usually pick and choose the healthier stuff. Breaded pork chops is one of my favorites, but I don't eat it nearly as often as I did before surgery. And although I usually do grilled chicken breasts, I like to bake chicken thighs and drumsticks and I leave the skin on. I haven't tried fried chicken since surgery, mostly because I just haven't wanted to.

It's really a matter of individual choice, and what you can handle!

I wouldn't see where breaded fish would be as hard to eat like a slice of bread would be. If you take small bites and wait a few minutes to see if it goes down okay I would think you would do alright.

Thank you ladies! I really like the baked fish sticks and as I know it's good Protein (fish) I wanted to make sure it was ok with it having an outter breading. I can only eat like 5-6 pieces but after my fill who knows I'll only be down to like maybe 2-3 ???? Who knows. The chicken I can find many ways to fix that.

I eat breaded chicken and fish, but I don't deep fry them and I don't do it often. The breading makes the texture more interesting and since I am not eating a lot of carbs, a little breading doesnt hurt.

If your having problems with chicken being to dry. You can buy chicken that they have added chicken broth/stock to. I Know Aldies does this to their chicken breasts and they come out so MUCH more moist then buying chicken from anyplace else. It makes the salt content a bit higher but personally I don't worry to much about salt. I just don't add anymore to it.

A 10 minute broil on each side and it comes out beautiful.

Are the oven baked fish sticks breaded? Are they pretty good? The only fish I like is tuna, salmom croquettes, long john silver, or popcorn shrimp. all a no-no except the tuna. I am going today to buy some talipia, I have been told it doesnt have the fishy taste.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
