:) Can anyone tell me if we can drank BLACK coffee, someone told me that I couldnot drank coffee with lapband :)

Hello. I drink decaffeinated coffee and in fact one of the things I can drink (I am just post op) according to my surgery team is coffee. I drink a latte to use up some of the milk allowance I have to drink.

Hope that helps

Catherine

coffee is an irritant so you might want to go slowly with it and see how it feels.

I drink a big cup in the morning, I see it as keeping my sanity, but if it bothered me I'd stop. So listen to you body.

Deer meat is something you certainly can eat. Just cook it so it's very moist. Dry meat gets stuck. Like now I eat only dark chicken meat because breasts are too dry.

good luck.

Thanks alot I LOVE MY coffee.< /div>

My pleasure. Am in London. We also love our coffee here. And a latte in the morning keeps me sane (and awake).

If youur chicken breasts are dry, then there is something in the way you preparing it (I would think).

I'm no chef, but I have done Chicken breasts on the stove, in the oven, on the rotisserie (can't beat that!) and even on the grill without dryness?

Have you tried marinading them in like Paul Newman's dried Tomato dressing (at least an hour before cooking?) or any light but flavorful dressing?

Just a thought, you're welcome to contact for recipes.

My wife loves it when I cook!!:crying:

So how SOON after surgery can you try to add coffee...a latte to be more specific? I've been suffering with wicked caffeine-withdrawl headaches and a warm, lovely latte would make me feel sooooo much better! I had my surgery on Tuesday and I'm starving! The latte would certainly help!

Can anyone tell me if we can eat dear meat if so HOW TO FIX IT :confused2:

We eat venison a lot. It is lower in fat content, even after the processor adds suet to the ground venison to help hold it together. I like my venison cooked in a crock pot. It is a relatively dry meat, and this keeps it moist. In fact, except for the ground meat, that's the only way I will eat it. Any recipe suitable for beef in a crock pot will be even better with venison, and healthier, too. One of the easiest recipes, suitable for deer steak, chops or tenderloin, is to just put it in the crockpot with half a packet of onion Soup mix and Water to cover. Let it cook for 7-8 hours on low. If you like pot roast, you can add potatoes, onions, and carrots, but if you do they should be put in at the same time and below the meat.

If you don't have a crock pot - get one! They are a lapbander's best friend because they keep the meat moist and thus easier to eat.

Ground venison makes good burgers, meatloaf, chili, sloppy Joes, etc.

I used coffee with Ganoderma (mushroom) it has antiinflammatory, antibacterial that helps in healing. It's really good! Coffee is OK as long as you drink it moderately 2-3 cups a day.

I drank coffee the same day after surgery. I have not modified my coffee intake at all since being banded 3 months ago and have no issues. My doctor's office says coffee and tea is fine. Obviously if coffee irritated you before surgery, it probably will continue to irritate you after surgery but if you can drink it and it doesn't cause a problem, drink up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
