I noticed the post in Announcements for all the people getting their band in May. Is there a June one started? If not, I happy to organize this one.

Look sallykotz!!! Now you don't have to!!! wahooo! Go June Bandsters!!!

Good job lins12. We did it in April, too. Wish I had done things a little different than I did, but it's a fun list, and a great place for support. May did/is doing a good job of that. yippeee!

Okay, at the time I didn't know how to post a link, so whenever I saw someone on another thread with an April date, I would post and tell them to go to the April 2005 Bandsters thread and list their name and date, no link to that thread. So when they didn't go, I would just keep a running list and add them. I felt like I was a little "all over the place" because of that.

On the May thread, all those folks are talking back and forth on that thread and it's fun. We had lots of cheerleading but we weren't as active and cohesive.

I also made weekly "This week's bandsters" threads which was a little redundant, but there were SOOO many of us! It got difficult to keep up with who was going and coming, especailly since I was banded on the 8th and was distracted with my own recovery issues.

So it was all worth it. I can still go back and see who was banded in April, so it's a good reference. I hope you will get all your June Bandsters together for a nice place to post to one another. But you can guide people here with a link to this thread.

Hope that helps! Also, here's a link to the thread Sallykotz started...

Oh! It looks like she's got something going over there! Maybe check it out and join in there. Sorry! I didn't realize she was up and at 'em...if you want you can delete this whole thread and I won't get my feelings hurt! Hey, good luck in June!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
