Consider it done... my faith is what sees me through everything in life and I know God has brought us to this so we can have an incredible chance a living the life we have always dreamed of. I think He also knows your fears and by posting this thread you will be surrounded by His love through the care and concern of others-prefect strangers like me-who understand and are here for you.

You are going to do beautifully, and remember that when you are scared or nervous, just ask to feel His comfort. He is there with you and will be with you through every single moment.

Your sweet husband and beautiful baby will be waiting for you when you get into recovery... no worries darlin' - you are going to be fine!

Good luck and GOD'S SPEED friend!!

No worries - I am here for you always and you can certainly send me a private message anytime. In the meantime though, may I ask your first name and where you are?? I want to personalize those prayers! :biggrin2:

I just saw your post, but I'm glad you did well with the surgery. It's so great that you could get the prayer support you needed. I'm praying for you today. The days after surgery were more difficult than I had anticipated.

HI there! SO great to hear from you!! I'm sorry that you are still not feeling great, but consider that it really IS a short time since your surgery. Be gentle and kind and understanding to your body - it'll get better. I've read quite a few stories on here from folks that are hurting and dealing with the gas days afterwards - most say that moving/walking helps. I think I am going to try and get some extra days off of work myself. I have surgery on the Wed and was planning on working on the Mon following but we'll see. Just keep moving and don't give up. A young lady that my husband works with had her band in March and she still has a tough time with tightness in the mornings - OH - I also read that it can get tighter if we don't hydrate enough so keep on sippin' sister!! Hang in there and keep us in the loop!!

Lots of luv & hugs..

Stace

New2me, how are you doing today? I had the horrible gas in the left shldr for a couple of weeks. Each day did get better as god made me stronger!

Stace, what date is your surgery? I can tell you have such peace about your decision and the faith you have is awesome! I was supposed to go see my psych therapist next week for the 1st time, but God is my therapist 1st so I don't feel the need. She is a Christian so I will move my apt to next month and go from there. Our father keeps assuring me so I'm at that peace as well with my progress so far. He is awesome!!

NeverB4, THANK YOU! The Lord is my strength too and has given me some incredible life lessons and AMAZING gifts, including the opportunity to have this surgery. My faith is my guide.

New2Me, how ARE you!?! We're all hopin' and prayin' that you are feeling better now...

As for me, I'm getting SO excited... Aug 20th is my date! I start the LSD pre-op on Monday and as luck would have it, my Unjury Protein package came from the US today - which was SUPER fast, I just ordered it last week!!

Can not WAIT to embark on this new journey!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
