The question about sliming made me wonder, when you throw up from having your pouch too full, is what comes up really acidic? I know that's gross, but does it have that awful burning that you get from regular vomiting? Seems that it wouldn't since it's coming up from the upper section and hasn't been in there very long, but if it is... blech I hate that!

No acid just slime and chewed food, I don't know about anyone else but if I am sick it seems to go on forever, like 30 mins or so it's happened twice to me and quite frankly I do whatever is in my power to never have it happen again! It's an awful experience!

For me its a relatively simply thing. A Good burp / cough and it comes right out. Less than a 5 second ordeal, with no after effect. I usually go right back to my meal remembering to slow down a little.

B-Man I wish mine was that simple and I also can't always figure what's going to cause it. One day I will eat something and be fine and the next time I eat it I am in agony for a good half hour while I slime up food slowly. Like yesterday I had chicken for lunch and got down about 2 oz. Had the left overs for dinner had about 3 bites and started sliming it up for the next 10 minutes. UGH!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
