MaggiesMom1999 0 Posted July 23, 2008 Hello, all! I have been lurking and reading for a couple of weeks now and very much enjoy all of the information. I was banded on 7/1/08 and had lost 24 pounds on the pre-op liquids. In the first few days after the surgery (while on Clear Liquids which equals "nothing") I lost another 6 pounds. After that I have lost nothing which is a little discouraging but I'm still hanging in there. My next appointment is 8/8/08 and I hope for my first fill then. I am going on vacation next week which should prove interesting. I am in south Alabama and was banded by Dr. Snow in Mobile. Good luck to everyone! alabamagirl1975 2 Posted July 23, 2008 Hi there MaggiesMom! I'm in Alabama too, but I haven't been able to set a surgery date yet. I have done everything but the class and I still have not had a date set. Hope you are doing well and please keep in touch!

alabamagirl1975 2 Posted July 24, 2008 Hi there! I am using Dr. Miles at St. Vincent's East. So far, I have heard good things. How much have you lost so far?
AlabamaBabs 0 Posted July 24, 2008 Hello, all! I'm from Alabama and seeing Dr. DeWitt in B'ham. I've had my seminar, consult and getting ready to have psych eval and the nutrition/physical therapy/EKG and then we'll see! This is my first post and I have been lurking for awhile, probably since June. I am nervous, excited, scared and ready for a tool that will help me lose weight and keep it off! I have 'half' of me to lose! Also, I have a condition called ulcerative colitis--pancolitis--I take four horse pills that may cause me to not be a candidate for lapband. Dr. D is looking into and did talk about gastric bypass, too. I really don't want the riskier surgery and would like a tool that lasts lifetime, like the band. Good to know others have gone to Dr. DeWitt--any advice? Any questions I should ask??
