Anyone know a good Dr in Westchester, NY?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I was banded on 7/7/08 by Dr Fielding at NYU and have found out that he is dropping my insurance! I live in Westchester, NY and wondering if anyone has gone to Westchester Medical Center, or anywhere else in Westchester. I need to find a good Dr closer than the city because I will be starting a new job and will only have time to stay local. I appreciate any responses or suggestions for Dr in Westchester! Thanks! PM me or list it here. I'll look in both places. Barbara :seeya:

Do you have GHI? Thats what I have and I was also banded by Dr. Fielding. I am scheduled for my first fill tomorrow, so I will be interested to see what they charge me...

I have magnacare. Is Fielding dropping GHI, too? It is $100 for a fill. I asked. Good luck with your first fill! Please let me know how it goes. What were your feelings about Fielding? I did not see him before or after my surgery and I heard he did 18 lapbands the day he did mine. I hope he did the important part of mine at least. My stitch job is not good, I can tell. He has a great reputation, I know and that is why I went to him.

I would love to hear about your experience. Do you have restriction? I have like none since my surgery(12 days ago). I lost weight on the liquids but nothing this past week.

By the way, do you know how to change the weight on the ticker without completely making another one. I can't figure it out:scared2: so frustrating! Best of luck with your fill. Congrads on your weight loss!

Hi, I was banded on 6/3 by Dr. Tom Cerabona from Westchester Medical Center. He is he chief of Bariatric Surgery. He was wonderful. His office is right in the medical building near the Medical Center. His office staff treats you like you are VIP. Every 2 weeks there is a support group you can attend at 6pm for $10. There is one this Thursday. Dr. Cerabona also did my 16 1/2 yr old daughter on 7/8. We are both doing this journey together. When you find out how to change your ticker please let me know. I am getting very fustrated. Maybe I will see you at a support group.

I thought Dr. Fielding was good--I also did not see him before or after my surgery but he did talk to my family. I thought my stitching was bad---but now at 4 weeks post op it looks great!!

I think for the ticker you click on your own ticker in one of your posts and then it asks you to sign in---I beleive that is right.

Do you live in Westchester?

Thanks for the info. I will definitely check him out and see if he takes my insurance! It sounds really good. When they fill you, do they use any other way of finding your port site other than just poking toy?(X-ray, etc) Where do you live? That is great that you and your daughter are doing this together! Have a good day!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
