Hi, I am 35 years old and had the banding done in March of this year. i have not lost but 16 pounds and 0 inches. My biggest problem is my port. My port flipped and moved around so last month (June) my Dr. reattached it. Last week it came undone again. I am so at my wits end with this hole thing. Sometimes I feel like I made a big mistake.

Oh my gosh! What a pain. Can you tell me how they found out it flipped and what it takes and what they charge to re-attach it? I was just banded on 7/15/08 and I've seen it mentioned here a few times about ports flipping but I always wondered what was all involved in fixing it and if they charge you to fix it.

I don't know what causes it....it just happens...I went through True Results and they paid for it to be re-attached however, they are getting tired of me and my lap band problem. I called today and I believe they were more worried about the cost it would cost them. They want to put me under a local this time (when they fix it)and I am not sure what that means. They said I would be awake...I do not think I want to be awake...that does not seem natural. But back

to your question , that is what I want to know is how and why does this happen.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
