BubbaLove 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Hi there guys, I had the surgery June 9th. I have lost about 20lbs. since, but recently I have been at a stand still. I go for my first fill July 28. Is this common to slow down losing weight before your fill?
Love2Lose 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Yes it is! For me atleast. I had my surgery on June 5th...I lost 12 pounds 2 weeks after surgery and then came to a complete stop! I was just trying to maintain for the last month so as to not gain any weight back. And I stuck to the diet the doc gave and I didn't. But I also didn't lose anything. I went in for my first fill last week on the 16th and I lost 6 lbs in 4 days!!! It's really crazy. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...I've already got some restriction. Good luck! Guest Leslie2Lose Posted July 22, 2008 Bubba - it is completely normal to maintain or even gain weight before your first Fill...even after your first fill..until you reach your sweet spot (can take 2 to 3 fills to do so). Your body is still healing after surgery and while you progress from liquids to mushies to soft foods to solids it is adjusting to the caloric differences as well. Don't get discouraged. This is meant to go slowly.
HeatherO 7 Posted July 22, 2008 I agree with everyone else. It is perfectly normal and expected for this to happen. I bet if you did a poll on how many people experienced this, the vast majority would say yes, this happened to them.
hopefulmom25 0 Posted July 22, 2008 I am in the same boat. Banded June 11th, lost 32 lbs in 3 weeks and haven't lost a pound since. Despite exercising and sticking to the program.
