casper2101 0 Posted August 4, 2008 I am a therapist and work with people who have had the lap band as well as having the band myself. It is important that we get in touch with all of our emotions and what they mean to us. I think too often we use food as a socialy acceptable way to numb our feelings. However, just like any other adequate we end up with some ugly consequences from our behavior. I am a firm believer that the journey to weight loss is one deep inside of yourself...you have to examine the good, the bad, and the ugly and obtain a healthy balance. JDUB0414 0 Posted August 9, 2008 I am an emotional eater too. What makes me weird is that I cant eat when I'm mad, but it seems like when I'm over it, I have to eat. I also "crave" alot. I dont know what that's about. When I see others eating I just want something because I see them eating. I need help as well. I'm sure this is why I've only lost 41 pound in 4 and a half months. I'm in the process of moving into another house. We have been living with my mother in law in my husbands old small bedroom for 3 months and because I am stressed and so eager to go, and the fact that they eat everything known to man, I get the feeling this is why I've not been doing so well. I'm gonna look into the therapy thing first thing Monday morning.

Claudine1975 0 Posted August 9, 2008 JDUB0414 - 41 pounds in 4 month is great and you should be estatic that you are working with your band. That 41 pounds equates to 2 pounds a week and that is what is expected of bandsters. Stress is a triger for me and I just have to learn to redirect my head when that happens. It is not easy but it is a habit that I am determined to break. It's hard work but we will get there.

Claudine1975 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Recovery is going well. The clear liquid diet was hard and boring but I toughed it out and made it through. I am now on full liquids and I am feeling full with just a small amount of food and it is lasting about 3 hours. I know am still swollen and healing on the inside, but I feel great. I had very little pain after waking up from surgery. So far, it has not been that bad. I return to work this week so we will see how that goes:cool2:.
