Recommended Posts

I am so crazy, I weigh myself everyday and I have lost 13 pounds since being banded on the 27th of June but I have not lost any weight this past week at all. I am eating until I am full and trying to eat the Protein first etc. I am also not eating anything bad for me and I am getting upset. I know I should not weigh everyday but I just can't seem to help myself. Good Luck to you and maybe I can stay off of the scale.

Ok I have done this myself.

Now I was banded in March 2008 and I have lost only 23 pounds so I am one of the slow losers but thats ok I have lost so many inches its just crazy. Are you working out at all.

Also the doctor will tell you that the first 6 weeks after surgery is not for weight loss but for healing.

Keep that in mind.

When do you go in for a fill?

I am getting ready for my next fill on July 29th.

Hoping I hit my sweetspot this time.

I have 5.5 cc already in a 10cc band.

Keep your head up you have lost 13 pounds in a month that is fabulous.

Tp

I have started exercising and I am really sore. My scars are healing really fast and I have not weighed since the other day when I whined. I am trying to think as positive as you so if I am a slow loser as well I won't get frustrated. It is hard because I feel like my portions are down like 80% from pre surgery. People are noticing or so they say so that is a good thing. I feel great since I have gotten off of the caffiene as well. I never realized that would make me feel so much better. Talk to you soon.

I am all for this. Sunday will be the big day to weigh. I gave in and weighed today and I was disappointed, no loss in the last 2 weeks.Had my band 7/01/08. Reading and posting on here sure helps though. My first fill will be 7/28/08. My husband said I worry more about food than I used to, but I have to plan ahead now, and it is all so new. I have not let myself eat anything not healthy. Gave up all cold drinks. Now it is only Water or tea. I don't miss it.

Lets keep the Sunday date.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
