Pix 4 Posted July 20, 2008 (edited) I want to get a bit of color, and generally I tan in a bikini (cause its in my back yard and no one can see me) I decided this year, I want a bit of color instead of my normal healthy pasty white. I was banded may 7th think that is enough time so my scars to not react ugly? Or is this something I should discuss with my surgeon? He does know best after all ... but it seems such a silly question to ask him. *grin* Besides normally when I see him I just drool a lot (he is a hottie) and forget what I want to ask him :tt2: Edited July 20, 2008 by Pix forgot a word that makes the sentence

simplycami 0 Posted July 20, 2008 You might want to put bandaids over your scars just to help protect them or VERY high SPF. My daughter split her lip or right above it and they warned me that if she was in the sun the scar will darken. I am a lover of the sun too. I am planning on laying out the next week so I wont start feeling to pasty afterwards.
danalou 0 Posted July 20, 2008 My doc told me at my six week fill that if I HAD to tan, it was okay.
Lanakila 1 Posted July 20, 2008 I'm not sure that sunning is a good idea at all with scars that are less than about 9 months. They will turn a really icky color and that will take longer to fade if they do at all. If you aren't worried about the scars becoming more visible, I would think that it would be fine for you to sun. Be sure to drink, drink, drink. It's so much easier to dehydrate when you have the band.
