Hello...I have decided I need to talk to people in my same situation....I had my surgery on May 7th and have lost 42 pounds - which I am excited about - no loss in the past 2 weeks though. Little nervous, feel like I can eat more than I should be. Looking forward to hearing from others.....

Hey I was banded May 28th. I've lost 38lbs so far. I'm in a similar situation. The past 2 weeks or so I feel like I've been eating more than I should. I just got my second fill on the 15th and I feel a little more restriction. But I've already noticed since my fill that I'm still eating too much. I've been doing a little reseach and looking at other posts regarding my "problem" and it seems like a really common thing. Alot of people eat larger meals up until their 3 or 4th fill. Its different for every person obviously but those were the common numbers I found when people really start feeling restriction. I get my 3rd fill on August 6th so I'm hoping Ill have more restriction then. I joined a gym last week and that has definitely helped me. I think my big problem is head hunger though. I think once I can tame that then I'll start eating the right portions. Hope that helps some! Just remember youre not alone! :scared2:

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
