What would you do?

Okay, so it is twelve thirty at night and I am up rambling around the house. I have only eaten 930 calories today and I am a just a little bit hungry. Should I just go to bed and forget about it or have a planned snack? What would you do in my situation?

thanks

I'd go to bed. No value in the extra calories.

How much later are you going to be awake? I just ate a 100 calorie yogurt because I was hungry too. However, I will be up for another couple of hours.

If you think you will be up, have a healthy snack (small), if not - go to bed!

wow, am I the only person who says, have the snack? if you are hungry, you should eat. It's not like you'll be eating a gallon of ice cream right? Maybe a healthy snack... absolutely.

Personally, I would go to bed. I don't like eating directly before sleeping due to the fact that my activity level will be nothing. I also have a loud, active stomach which can keep me husband awake with all of the gurgling and shuffling inside that takes place if I eat then lie down directly after.

However, if you will be up for a while and are really craving a healthy snack, it wouldn't be terrible to indulge.

I agree... I would have had a snack... like a small bowl of rasin bran Cereal or something like that... How in the hell are u going to go to bed hungry then u will dream about food... i have done it and since I know how my body works.. it wont hurt... now depending on what u eat... like the above quote said it's not like u are going to eat a gallon of ice crean or anything... not sure if u had your snack but next time if u don't want to eat or snack so late plan to be in the bed by a certain time......and u wont be hungry because u will be sleeping...lol...

Well, the hunger ruled and won! I ate 1/4 cup protein(tunafish) and went to bed. Slept like a happy baby. Weighed this morning and was down 2 lbs. so I guess it didn't hurt me.

Thanks for all your replies and support!

Ya'll are awesome people!

You have always been there when most needed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
