weight watcher and your goal

Recommended Posts

I am almost at my goal. I have done weight watcher in the past. I am pretty confident in my food choices most of the time now. But I think having the scale once a week would be good for me. I don't know how they would react with my surgery... any ideas?

I have seen several posters on here who go to weight watchers. If you think it would help you hit your goal and then maintain, I think that's great. I don't think you even need to tell them about your surgery if you don't want to. It's just a tool that you have used...you have still done all of the hard work to make it happen!

I joined Weight Watchers last week. I told the WW Leader I had lapband surgery 2 years ago and she was fine with it. They want me to get to 169. My doctor said I am okay where I am now at 220 but I would like to get to 200 with a stretch goal of 185. She said no problem, just have him write a note on a prescription pad. I am following the Core plan which I believe to be closer to a bandsters diet. High Protein, fruits and vegies, only brown rice or whole grain Pasta. You get 35 extra points a week for bread, wine or whatever. I have lost at least 4-5 lbs this week on Core. I love it. Let me know how you do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
