Central Texas

I am going to get my surgery done in Mexico on June 7th. Does anyone know who will do fills in the Central Texas area. If not, Dallas or Houston area doctors would be helpful too.

Thanks.

Hi!

I'm also getting my Lband in Mexico on June 7th! Who is your doctor? Dr. Roberto Rumbaut is doing mine in Monterrey.

Where do you live? Do you have aftercare lined up? I found a dr in Richardson and in Houston who will do filld but I am nervous about any complications.

I live in San Antonio. I have been told that Dr. Rumbaut has an associate now in San Antonio who will do any aftercare.

Yes, I'm a little nervous, too, but I just keep coming to this board and read all the wonderful things that are going to be taking place afterwards. So, while I'm nervous, I'm also excited and waiting to get it over with.

My husband is going with me.

I go to Gerald Garwood in College Station. He is great. He is not a surgeon, But was trained to do fills, and assists Dr Benavides.

hi there...just wanted to let ya'll know to be very careful when selecting aftercare physicians who were not involved in your surgery. i know that dr garwood and dr benavides remind us quite often that it's getting more difficult for pt's who have the surgery in mexico to get quality aftercare because the physicians don't want to get involved with any possible complications that may arise due to "cheap fixes"....just make sure that ya'll find ones who are very reputable...good luck all

I AM FREAKING OUT. Are you?

I am going to Dr. Oritz in Tijuana.

I could really use a fellow Mexico lapband friend today.

Can you tell me which dr in Richardson does this?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
