My nutritionist said I may need chewable vitamins. I found chewable adult Vitamins at Target. I bought the Omega 3, muti, C, and Calcium. They all taste good and only the multi is very chewy like a Gummy bear, the rest are more mushy.

Does anyone else use these? I want to see if I will still be able to use them once I am banded (late August date.)

Thanks!! :biggrin2:

I wouldn't try it- it may get stuck??? It's not really "chewable" enough so you can break it down with your teeth, or is it???

Hmmmm

I just bought some Centrum chewable vitamins and they chew to a powder very easily. They taste pretty chalky though, not a strong flavor, just that kind of gaggy texture and I notice I taste them for quite a while after I take them. I'm hoping to get used to them before my band, but I might have to try the gummies.< /p>

I use the gummies too, I now have to switch as they are now getting stuck, I don't like regular chewables as I can't stand the taste, they tend to gag me. So the doctor told me to get regular ones and cut them up, into halves or thirds.

I use the gummies from Target and have no problems whatsoever. And I have very good restriction too (6.5cc in a 10cc band). They're easy to chew up and they melt as you chew them too.

I can't stand any of the chewables I've tried. The Viactiv were ok but had a bit of a chalky aftertaste that I didn't care for. The gummies taste like candy.< /p>

I have 8.?? in a 10cc band and I just started using gummy vitamins. I LOVE them. I have never been able to make myself take Vitamins, but these are good. I just got a small bottle at our local grocery store, but I will be getting a big bottle. They ROCK!!

Littlefroggy, what kind of chewable Calcium did you get? I had a bad reaction to the Viactive and am looking for one to replace it. I also use the chewable Centrum orange flavored and they remind me of baby aspirin. Not bad.

I use the Flintstone gummies. I love them and never had a problem with them getting stuck. I just bought my son some gummy vitamins by Sundown Kids (?). They are super hero Vitamins and I tried them and I like them too. They are much softer than the Flintstones, almost like a gumdrop.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
