Sorry it's been so rough but you sound like you're handling all this stress well. You've always been so good about getting back on track (eating.) I'm busy now but wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you. Peace.

Babs, so sorry for your family's loss.

Compression garments from head to toe? You're gonna roast. Now, for real, how many will you have to wear? When I had my surgery which included a Tummy Tuck (not for weight loss) I was in one from high waist to knees. Good thing you don't have to take them off & on to go to the ladies' room!

Hi Babs,

Hope things smooth out soon. The Cancun trips sounds exactly like what you need after all of this. Best wishes, Teresa

Babs, I'm glad you can see the end in sight for your MIL's visit. Sounds as if she can't focus on anyone except herself right now -- understandable, I guess, after such a loss. I hope your husband is coping well. She might have lost a husband, but her son lost someone he's known his entire life. Good luck next week.

Sorry for the loss of your Father-in-law. It was great of you to take such good care of your Mother-in-law. I know it has been extremely stressful for you, but it is only for a short time. Hang in there!

Have a wonderful time! Cancun is where the love of my life proposed to me, so I have VERY fond memories of it. If you can, take the day trip to Xcaret. It's amazing!

Hasta la vista, Babsy!! :)

I'm so sorry for what you have been going throuhg. Sorry about your FIL, and I'm sorry that you have had it so rough, with your MIL. It is understanding that your MIL is having a hard time right now, but you are being a very good daughter to her indeed. NO GOOD DEED GOES UNREWARDED. Have fun in Cancun and enjoy your vacation. I'm so excited about you getting your tt, I too am scheduled for one this summer and can't wait to have my bulges gone. I'm a bit scared, but mostly just very excited. And I'm sure not looking forward to wearing those tight girdle pants ( I had Lipo on my outer thighs two years ago) and those pants are the hardest thing about the whole recovery thing. I hate to wear tight stuff, yuck!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
