Anyone having issues with coughing or trouble breathing?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 8/13/07. Everything has been great. I do notice that when I usually get my "monthly", things tighten and I cough a bit which I'm told is normal, that stress can tighten things.

However, for the past 2 weeks the coughing hasn't gone away and gets progressively worse. It's like I can't get enough air.

Has anybody experienced this? I don't believe I've too tight. I feel I am finally at the "sweet spot" and am really irritated that this might make me have to get some fill removed and I'm back to square one again.

I've called the doctor and waiting on a call back to see what they think.

Hi I am not banded at this time but hope to be soon. I understand from research I have done that stress makes you tighter as well as a woman's mentral cycle. I would consult your Dr. to make sure it's nothing seriousl. Good luck and take care. Stephanie

I am having this problem right now. I thought it was a summer cold so I went to my family doctor but now I am wondering if it is something band related. I have this terrible hacking that has been going on for three weeks.

What was your outcome??

Did anyone have trouble with the CO2 in the abdominal cavity pressing up against the lungs so they couldn't expand properly after surgery. any input will be appreciated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
