Hi everyone. I was banded this past Monday the 14th and I am feeling pretty good. The worst pain is the air pocket in my shoulder which comes and goes. I am trying to walk as much as possible and are following the liquid diet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks..:cool2:

Got the SAME issue!! Was banded last week Friday - I don't have any easy answers, but I have heard that walking and stretching can help. I found that if I miss my pain meds or Tylenol, I'm much more aware of the pain. Other than that - I think it's a waiting game - I think it can take up to 2 weeks for the gas to fully work through our bodies. But, you know - in 6 months from now when we're sliding on smaller jeans and thrilled we finally have control over our eating - this current pain will be just a distant memory! Good luck!

I was re-banded on the 14th, too. I don't have the shoulder pain though. I came back to work today and feeling pretty good :-)

I go to the doc for follow up tomorrow. I gotta say I am looking forward to the liquid phase being over!

Take care all!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
