Yes, definitely get that checked out. It can cause serious damage down the road with your esophagus and stomach pouch if you stay too tight a long long time..

I was wondering the same thing. I had my last fill about two months ago. It was a decent fill. I think I'm at 3.4 in a 4cc band. I stayed on liquids for a 3 days, then moved into solids. Since my last fill I've felt I am at my SWEET SPOT (I've been hearing SO much about for the past 11 months!).

My issue is that I think I irritated my stoma (again) and its swelling. I've had a hard time eating over the past few days. I start to eat a cup of Beans and it takes me 20 min to eat the first 10%, then its like my stomach gets warmed up or something... then I can eat the rest within 10 or 15 min. Today I ate string cheese, avocado and some turkey. I munched on a few sunflower seeds (no shell), but I don't think I chewed well enough... when I got home about an hour ago, I thought I'd make myself a pomagranite martini. (mmm) I drank 1/2 of it. I coughed and BOOM! I threw up all over my desk/paperwork/purse/computer.... omg, I'm so happy nobody was home to see the mess. I am really anxious right now b/c I feel like I messed things up. I know I shouldn't have been drinking the martini in the first place... I KNOW I KNOW!!! :cool2:

So now I am trying to get down some hot tea.

I feel like I screwed up. Does this make any sense at all? AAhhhh!!!

no u didn't screw up so dont beat yourself up if u have a 4-cc band and its almost filled it actually mite b to tight so u might want to have it checked. of course limiting alcohol is never a bad thing but u r allowed to have a drink now and then and a martini doesn't sound to bad what happened is that u mite have had something stuck and when it mixed with the alcohol boom vomit concoction lol i do hope u feel better call your Dr. and definitely stay off solids and alcohol till u have the ok from him gd luck keep me posted!!!

Klimb.... YES! I have the same problem. I have a couple of questions for you. I am trying to self-diagnose and see if what I am experiencing is 'normal'.

My last fill was 5 weeks ago. I was at 175. Since then, I'm down to 159. I haven't been able to eat at all in the morning, but eating just about 1/2 cup for 2 meals per day. The thing is, my restriction has gotten tighter over the past week. So much that my doctor put me on Clear Liquids just in case I may have eaten something that got stuck. I am dying! The last thing I ate was turkey on Wednesday. I was told I have to be on Clear Liquids till Monday.

Did your restriction get tighter? My doctor is in Mexico, so I'll have to book a flight on Monday if my restriction doesn't return to normal. She thinks I am too tight.

In addition, I am wondering if I lose 10 more pounds, will my band losen? See my dilema??? ... get an unfill now, just to lose 10 pounds and have it filled back up to the same point again...

Dana

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
