My doctor has no restrictions after a fill. He said if I feel more comfortable sticking with mushies the first day, that's fine, but he specifically wants me to try solid foods by the 2nd day and to let him know if I can't tolerate them.

My Dr. has Clear Liquids + milk and Slim Fast the day of the fill and the following 3 days. Then soft foods for 4 days, then foods as tolerated.

I got my first fill yesterday, I have twenty-four hours of full liquids and then twenty-four hours of mushies........they will be giving me fills every two weeks and that is what I have to do each time I get one.

I had my fill on Monday. My doctor just says to go slow and increase thickness of food over the course of the week. Monday evening and yesterday I just had fluids and strained Soup. Today I've had a yoghurt drink, smoothies and creamy Soups. I don't go for the diet options as the cals stay low because my portions are so small. It's ironic that I only eat the full fat, full taste foods when I'm filled, simply because I limit myself to such a small amount.

Also, drink plenty.

Two days liquid, two days mushies then slowly introduce solids.

unbeilievable how different the doc's are, mine says solid protien after fill, he says he doesn't want food going through the stomach fast. I'm more confused as I read because m.d.'s are so different. vicki

Keep in mind, our doctors are only having us do 1-2 days of liquids . . . after that, of course they want us to return to solid Proteins so that food doesn't move too fast through the band (that's how it works). The liquids are just to help you recover from a fill -- to ease any irritation you might have from changing the size of your stoma (any inflammation around the tissue, etc.).

My Dr did not give me any directions, but trust me I would slowly work back up to solid foods as I have vomitted a few times since my fill do to food not passing

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
