MarySJ 0 Posted July 16, 2008 I get my first fill on 7/17/08 - my doctor says after a fill - clear fluids for 2 days.....
Northwest_Nance 0 Posted July 16, 2008 My doctor has no restrictions after a fill. He said if I feel more comfortable sticking with mushies the first day, that's fine, but he specifically wants me to try solid foods by the 2nd day and to let him know if I can't tolerate them. minpinmom 2 Posted July 16, 2008 My Dr. has Clear Liquids + milk and Slim Fast the day of the fill and the following 3 days. Then soft foods for 4 days, then foods as tolerated.
Insky67 2 Posted July 16, 2008 Liquids for a day or two, then mushy food and then slowly try regular foods and see how it goes.
gina s. 0 Posted July 16, 2008 I got my first fill yesterday, I have twenty-four hours of full liquids and then twenty-four hours of mushies........they will be giving me fills every two weeks and that is what I have to do each time I get one.
finnsmum 0 Posted July 16, 2008 I had my fill on Monday. My doctor just says to go slow and increase thickness of food over the course of the week. Monday evening and yesterday I just had fluids and strained Soup. Today I've had a yoghurt drink, smoothies and creamy Soups. I don't go for the diet options as the cals stay low because my portions are so small. It's ironic that I only eat the full fat, full taste foods when I'm filled, simply because I limit myself to such a small amount. Also, drink plenty.
Jodi_620 37 Posted July 18, 2008 Two days liquid, two days mushies then slowly introduce solids.
SanDiegoPhotog 0 Posted July 19, 2008 My doctor says 2 days liquids, but I'm a total chicken, so I am going to do 2 days liquids and 1 or 2 days mushies.
bandofgold 0 Posted July 19, 2008 unbeilievable how different the doc's are, mine says solid protien after fill, he says he doesn't want food going through the stomach fast. I'm more confused as I read because m.d.'s are so different. vicki
SanDiegoPhotog 0 Posted July 19, 2008 Keep in mind, our doctors are only having us do 1-2 days of liquids . . . after that, of course they want us to return to solid Proteins so that food doesn't move too fast through the band (that's how it works). The liquids are just to help you recover from a fill -- to ease any irritation you might have from changing the size of your stoma (any inflammation around the tissue, etc.). urgnurse 0 Posted July 19, 2008 My Dr did not give me any directions, but trust me I would slowly work back up to solid foods as I have vomitted a few times since my fill do to food not passing
