MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH 0 Posted July 16, 2008 Hello everyone! My name is Stacy. I have my surgery date for the lap band set for August 18. I'm very excited about starting things over and having my weight under control. I was hoping that anyone out there that reads this that has had the surgery already would let me in on what to expect. OIC108 0 Posted July 16, 2008 Hi Stacy, Congratulations!!! I can only tell you about my experience but it may help a little. I am not sure how long the surgery took because I was waiting in the hallway forever (or so it seemed) and they knocked me out before bringing me in. I was in recovery for a while after (no rooms open) and while i was there I was up and going to the bathroom independently. I was very sore and had waves of nausea which lasted to the next day but by the time i left the following morning it was gone. I did have some gas pain in my chest which went to my back luckly i did not have it in my shoulder. Walking and gasx strips helped. But within like 3 days the gas was gone. I did have pain where the port was but that stopped after about a week and a half. Now i don't feel it and I am just waiting for the incisions to heal.
