I had my surgery on the 9th, and I know EXACTLY how you feel! I'm not really that hungry, and I have to force Protein and Water into my system. I just sip on 16 oz bottle of water for an hour, and then protien for 3. Good luck to you, honey!

the first couple days are the roughest! Walk just a little bit every couple hours or so, but don't over do it the first 2 days.

sleeping, unfortunately, is a bit rough. They don't want you to lay flat at all! It is pretty painful anyway, so prop yourself up. Don't be freaked out if you wake up a bunch of times in the middle of the night. I didn't sleep through the night for awhile. The pain will subside soon, hang in there! Take your liquid tylenol. (if u have it)

GOOD LUCK on your journey!!

Hang in there honey...we're all cheering for you! Have you tried the strips for the gas? I think that they are Mylanta or Maalox? I've seen on other boards where folks have suggested them instead of liquids or other stuff. I don't know if they actually help, but you let us know, k?

First of all, congratulations... The walking around helped me with the pain in my chest. I slept in the chair with the ottoman and used a lot of pillows for support.

This too shall pass... Don't worry..

Don't do too much and get some rest.

Take care.. We are all here for ya.

Good luck.:biggrin2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
