Just had lapband yesterday, came home same day. Did great. Today I ate my 12:00 meal of 2 oz of Advantedge with Protein. After 30 minutes, I wanted to get that nasty chocolate protein taste out of mouth and decided very unwisely to eat a cherry popsicle. I will never want another cherry popsicle. It hurt, I foamed, and threw up. I called the dr. and they said I shouldnt have eaten a popsicle the day after surgery and that I could throw up this foam for some time. Finally it is ok. I think I over ate and it sure doesnt feel good. It was quite an eye opener.

Hi:

yes, my fact sheet said I could eat them, but when I called they said I shouldnt have. I then tried at 3:00 my next meal, threw up until 11:00 last night. I think I was over filling my pouch also. As the last 2 swallows of my the 3:00 meal made me feel very tight. I feel great this morning and I am going to try Breakfast very slowly and if I feel fill I am not going to finish the broth. I also think the Protein is making me sick. I am using whey protein from GNC, and it makes the shake so thick and nasty. Today I am going to try without the protein first and then work up to it.:frown:

I was banded the 14th of July, two days ago. I had popsicles in the hospital. They are so soothing. I think you are right about the Protein. I know you do NOT want to keep getting sick. Good luck with the change, hopefully that will do it and you will feel much better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
