Can anyone recommend a good exercise DVD?

Recommended Posts

For the first time in my life I am exercising regularly and am excited about it. I'm doing well with cardio -- walking mostly -- but I want to work on my abs, legs, and arms. Does anyone have a good DVD to recommend?

I just recently bought the Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD. I really like it. It was only $9.99 at Target.

I kept seeing an infomercial for Zumba DVD's and decided to order them. They look like a lot of fun. Kind of mixes salsa dancing steps to make it more fun. When I get them, I will let you know how they are.

I used to work out with The Firm DVD's til I injured my knee. I think they are great videos. They mix strength training and aerobics. I just couldn't do them anymore because they have some exercises that were bad on my knees.

I really need to start working out regularly myself. I was on my AirClimber yesterday for about 15 minutes and my thighs are killing me today. First time I exercised, besides walking, since surgery.

Best wishes,

Stephanie

Any leslie Sansone videos Walmart has lots of them. It mixes walking with kicking, jogging if you want, knee lights, arm lifts etc. Kick backs. It's easy to do for any person no matter how much they weigh. I weigh 406 lbs and I do them, may not as fast as her but it's fun and peppy.

Hi! Despite my weight I have been an avid walker for years. I enjoy Leslie Sansone. I also have George Foreman's "walking" videos. I also like the TaiBo believers video. It is a very tough workout but I like the challenge a few times a month.

The best workout dvd's that I have used are t-tapp and taebo.

t-tapp you can find at www.t-tapp.com

They are wonderful and do not hurt your joints.

Taebo is great also for gettin gout frustration.

Either one will help you lose inches and tone.

Good luck

Just got Zumba videos and I have to say, I am really enjoying them. I don't feel like I am exercising at all, but can sure tell they are working me out. The workouts incorporate latin dance moves and music so you feel more like your dancing than exercising.

I love them!!!!

I am doing the Tae Bo "amped" series. It's 5 dvds and an "amplifier" bar from Walmart for only $30. It's been great so far . . . but it is kind of a tough workout. I don't think I could have done it very well if I hadn't gotten into better shape by walking and swimming first. Three months ago, TaeBo would have killed me.

I used to use the firm and I really liked it, I don't anymore just because I got a little burnt out on it. I love Yoga Booty Ballet its a lot of fun too.

Leslie Sansone videos are my favorite!! I love the walk away the pounds fat burner one!!

I am with Marie, Leslie's are the best, encouraging and not hard to do, either on a treadmill (watch while I walk) or just walking in place.

Continue the great work all of you! You all are doing good!

Before I even started getting this big I used to lvoe the Tony Little exercise videos. They are more toning and shaping than arobic which elps for me because of excercise induced asthma. It really did keep my legs looking good when I worked at a casino and wore a little skirt.

I highly recommend Joyce Vedral's weight workout, it will target the areas that you're concerned about.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
