Newly banded Lakeland Florida

Recommended Posts

Hello all. Pat Noble here. I was banded July 9th, 08. Can somebody tell me how long it takes for pain to subside? It has been 5 days post-op and I still feel like my stomach wants to fall out when I stand or walk. However, it is much better than yesterday. I weighed 238 on 7/9/08 and today I weigh 227. Has anyone also sweat severely after getting up and walking? I get soaked and nausious when I attempt to walk but I do anyway. Any advice?

Pat :cursing:

I headed back to work after 4 days (I was banded June 13). I was a little sore then but one month later - I don't even feel like I had the surgery. Give yourself a couple more days and the pain should go away. You're not doing any strenous activities - are you? If you are in that much pain - contact your doctor.

Hi and thanks for responding. I like the weight loss ticker you have that shows your progress. How do you put it on your post?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
